Position Summary

The Irrigation Assistant is responsible for supporting the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems across residential and commercial landscaping projects. This role works closely with irrigation technicians to ensure water-efficient system performance and client satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist in the installation of irrigation systems including trenching, laying pipe, and installing valves and emitters
• Support troubleshooting and repairing leaks, clogs, or faulty irrigation components
• Perform seasonal checks and adjustments to irrigation timers and zones
• Work safely with tools, electrical components, and pressurized systems
• Document service calls and parts used, keeping detailed job records

Supervisory Controls

This position reports directly to a licensed Irrigation Technician or Project Supervisor. Daily tasks are delegated with regular feedback and inspection.

Working Conditions

Outdoor work in all seasons and weather conditions. Frequent bending, lifting (up to 60 lbs), and use of hand/power tools. Must be comfortable working around water systems and low-voltage wiring.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic knowledge of plumbing or irrigation preferred
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with drip, spray, or sprinkler systems
• Familiarity with smart controllers or water-saving systems

Certificates & Licenses

No formal license required, but training toward QWEL or EPA WaterSense certifications encouraged.

Conditions of Employment

May require travel to job sites in multiple cities or states. Weekend or overtime work as needed. LuxLand LLC may hire without background checks at its discretion where legally permitted.
